American actress, producer, and author Candace Cameron Bure best known for her role as D.J Tanner on Full House, apologized on Instagram for posting a TikTok video that fans viewed as “weird and seductive.”

In a now-deleted video, Burr Lip-syncs the lyrics to Lana Del Rey’s song “Jealous Girl.” The lyrics state, “Baby, I’m a gangster too and it takes two to tango/ You don’t wanna’ dance with me, dance with me.”

She’s seen dancing to the song in a slow and, what some perceived as a seductive-like manner, moving her hips as she approaches the camera to make eye contact with viewers. Then, Burr picks up her bestselling One Step Closer Bible and looks at it intensely. The book is a collaboration between Bure and DaySpring, a website for Christian material.

On the TikTok video, Bure wrote: “When they don’t know the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Bure’s video immediately received criticism, which caused the actress to take to Instagram to apologize for offending anyone.

“I just came home and read a lot of messages that were not happy with my latest Instagram post that was a TikTok video,” Bure shared in her Story. “And I usually don’t apologize for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird, and I’m sorry. That was not my intention. I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and applying it to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is incredible.”

The Fuller House actress also took a dig at her own acting skills when addressing concerns that she was being seductive.

“And so many of you thought that I was trying to be seductive, which clearly means I’m not a very good actress because I was trying to be strong, not sexy or seductive. So I guess that didn’t work, but I deleted it,” she stated.

The mother of three mentioned that her 22-year-old daughter Natasha inspired her to lip-sync the song because she did her own TikTok post with the song.
