Jonathan Lotz, grandson to the late evangelist Billy Graham is in the hospital due to a severe COVID-19 infection.

Anne Graham Lotz, Jonathan’s mother and Graham’s daughter, headed to social media to ask for prayer for her son over the weekend.

“Fifty years ago I could hold my son in my arms. Now I have placed him in the arms of Jesus,” she recalled in her post. “He has been hospitalized with COVID and is in critical condition…I am asking you to please pray for Jonathans (sic) swift healing and recovery. For the glory of Gods (sic) great name. Thank you.”

In another post, Graham Lotz updated her followers that Jonathan had been placed in ICU, but remained in good spirits and spreading the gospel to the hospital staff.

“I am physically exhausted yet spiritually overflowing,” read Jonathan’s words that were reposted by Graham Lotz. “I am continually pouring over the Psalms of Ascent (120-134) in ICU. I have had the privilege of sharing Jesus with the ER & ICU staff! What a Savior! God is so good!”

Jonathan’s sister also solicited prayers for her brother.

I just wanted to ask you to please continue your prayers for his oxygen levels to go up!! The outpouring of prayers and support has brought our family to tears a bunch,” wrote his sister Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright. “We know we aren’t the only ones going through difficulty – so thank you for your compassion!”

Within days of Graham Lotz announcing Jonathan had to enter ICU she reported that his condition had improved and he was being moved out.

PRAISE GOD!!! Praise our prayer-hearing, prayer-answering God! Jonathan has just been moved out of ICU. Now he begins rehab,” wrote Graham Lotz.”Thank you, thank you for carrying Jonathan on your knees! Please continue to pray he will go from strength to strength with no permanent side effects!”
