Gospel artist Nia Allen reached #1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay Charts with her latest single, “Wait.” The song also reached the top 50 on Billboard’s AC Chart. Wait is from Allen’s six-track EP, Every Nation, and is available on all major digital retailers.

The gifted singer has worked with some of the top artists and producers in the entertainment industry including CeCe Winans, Nicole C. Mullen, David and Nicole Binion. During an interview, Nia revealed that becoming a worship leader wasn’t something that she intended to do. Rather, necessity caused her to go into this direction.

“My mother, she was a worship leader at our church, and she lost her voice,’’ Allen revealed. “She came to me and said I need you to lead worship for the second service.”

The singer graduated from Berklee College of Music with a B.A. in Music Education, she also obtained a Master’s Degree of Divinity from Vanderbilt University. As a scholar, understanding what worship is has become important to her.

“When I think about worship, I often think of it as a response to our creator,” she shared. “Everytime I come into a worship service, I’m responding to the love that was demonstrated to me on the cross.”

Other popular songs that Allen has done renditions to are “I Owe You Worship” and “It Is Well.”
