Christian pop and R&B artist, Tauren Wells is doing extraordinary things for the Kingdom of God. He has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards, won four Dove Awards, is the worship leader of Lakewood Church in Houston Texas, and has reached over one million views for songs like Hills and Valleys and Never Lost.
Recently, he released new music with other artists on his website TaurenWells.com. Wells co-wrote Aaron Cole’s song Like You and is featured on the track along with TobyMac. The autotune-infused tune emphasizes their desire to be more like Jesus Christ.
“Everybody’s going to worship something, but there’s only one name I choose. So if you’re looking for a life to move in, here I am Lord, I’m making room. If I’m going to be more of anything, I just want to be more like you” Wells sings in the retro-style video.
The worship leader also joined with R&B recording artist H.E.R. to release the soulful number Hold Us Together. The song reminds listeners that “You’re [God] the keeper” and “It is you [Him] that holds us together.”
Along with singing, Wells preaches. On the website, you can hear sermons like Hills and Valleys; Handling Life’s Highs and Lows, Where There Is A Way, There Is A Will, and The Struggle Is Real.
Wells believes that his calling is to “build culture,” he shared in an interview. He feels that “fashion is a way that we do that.” The entrepreneur has an online store that provides merchandise for both men and women.
Visitors to the site can purchase items like a hoodie with the words “Exclusive Citizen of Heaven Hoodie,” and t-shirts designed for women that say “Like You Love Me.”
